President’s Message
I am honoured to take on the role of your London Claims Association President for the 2025 to 2027 term. I have the very daunting task of trying to fill the shoes of my predecessor, and friend, Kelly Peck-McDonnell. Under her leadership, the LCA has hosted a string of hugely successful, varied and extremely fun events, from the annual Holiday Party and Golf Tournament, to smaller, unique outings such as our London Fair Derby Race Day and our Karaoke Night. I will do my very best to sustain the momentum that she has built up.
Our board is a fantastic group of enthusiastic, creative and hard-working individuals from across the industry. You can check out their Bios on this site. My only frustration with them so far, is that they continue to come up with too many great new ideas; far too many for us to fit into my term in office. Suffice to say, we have a lot of great things planned for you over the next couple of years. Come back to the website often for updates on upcoming events. You can also follow us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn and be sure to sign up to be included in our emails.
For those of you who don’t know me, I have been in the industry for nearly 29 years; three as a company adjuster and the last 26 as an Independent. I have been at Octagon Adjusting Services since the fall of 2021. I started my career in Toronto, where I lived for 11 years before coming “back home” to London. I currently live in Thorndale with my wife Tracey and our four children (I would go into detail about who has moved out, who is back home and who hasn’t left yet, but that information will probably be out of date by the time I finish typing this).
I love our community here, both the industry and the London area as a whole. We are a diverse, knowledgeable and supportive group of people, who also know how to party.
Speaking of our caring community, each president has the privilege of choosing a charity to support during their tenure. I have chosen London Cares. To quote their website ( https://londoncares.ca/ ), they are an “organization founded to respond to individuals experiencing chronic and persistent homelessness in London”. Through our Toy, Food and Clothing drive as well as fundraising at our various events, since November, we have already been able to donate over $1,000.00 as well as a large quantity of food, clothing and badly needed miscellaneous items. Please check out their website and their Needs List; and consider donating, outside of and in addition to, our events. We will also continue to support Kelly’s chosen charity, Anova, and will donate to them any items (toys, canned goods etc..) which London Cares cannot put to use.
Again, it is my honour and privilege to be your president for the next two years. I hope to see you all at the Curling Rink, Golf Course, Concert Stage, Race Track, Barn Party, Drive-In, Rally Course, Trivia Night, Cooking Competition, Trade Show, Education Day… (told you we had a lot of great things planned)
